This policy brief highlights how rehabilitation services are essential for the 2.6 billion people worldwide who could benefit from them, particularly those with NCDs. It highlights that despite rehabilitation’s critical role in improving functioning and quality of life for people with conditions like cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes, these services remain underfunded and underdeveloped. The brief advocates for incorporating rehabilitation indicators into the NCD Global Monitoring Framework and ensuring rehabilitation is recognised as a core component of comprehensive NCD care in global health policies and national health systems.
